Babayan Obscura

The village of Ibrahimpasha in Cappadocia, Turkey is full of abandoned and inhabited caves and semi-cave dwellings. Within this environment, the artist's residency Babayan Culture House created a unique experience for artists to work and visit these spaces. As an artist in residence, I made photographs of existing spaces and created experimental installations and projections that referred to the rich and layered history of the region. The work included two camera obscuras in abandoned caves.
